Vernal Translocation

Early May. The lake is being emptied.

Actually, I should say reservoir.

Sadly, even now that we're in the throws of rainy season, it hasn't returned to this level. This may be due in part to the sever drought that Thailand and much of South East Asia
has been experiencing, or it may be due to the efforts by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to empty the dam after a minor earthquake apparently aggravated a significant crack at the dam's edge.

According to the Nation, there is the theoretical possibility that if the dam does break, the water will wash away the unfortunate town at its base, and reach all the way to Bangkok.

Casual Friday, 4:38 to 7:25 pm

The poster on the left is actually a calendar produced by the Thai-Mon community depicting the genocide of the Mon people by a Burmese king in 1757, which involved the de-robbing and stomping-to-death of monks by a horde of elephants, and the execution of pregnant women and children while, apparently, the old capitol burned.

I always know what day it is.
